Hey folks! Welcome to the new website for Cream Puff Records. We’ve got a lot of things planned for this thing, so we hope you’ll check back in with us from time to time to see what’s going on.
First and foremost, did you know we sell vinyl, turntables and speakers at Tabor? You can think of us as a one-stop shop to get into the vinyl game if you’re just getting started. Or think of us as a place where you can seriously upgrade your record collection if you’ve already got one.
This website is designed to support our record store, and we hope you’ll swing by soon to buy some records. But our goal is to accomplish something more than that. We want to be a resource for you, to help you find good live music in Charlotte, to alert you to artists and records that we’re psyched about, and to highlight the great labels and artists North Carolina has to offer, both past and present. At a time when our state is in the news for all the wrong reasons, we want to write about some of the good stuff that's going on here.
Here’s a quick tour of the site:
Our blog. Consider this Post #1. Going forward, this space at the center of the page will feature original content on a quasi-regular basis. Most of it will come from us and be super basic: playlists, profiles, shows we’re going to, etc. But we’ll occasionally feature writing from some guys and girls who are actually published music writers. We’ll also be including photos, cartoons and other original images from some of our pals in Charlotte. We hope you’re as excited about this as we are.
The rest of the features are located on the left side of the page. As you make your way down the page, you’ll see:
Our logo. Check out our righteous logo on the top left. Thanks to the kids at Old Envelope Company for the design.
Shows, etc. Below the logo is Shows, etc., our running list of live shows scheduled for Charlotte. If you click on more…, you’ll link to a page with a full list of the gigs we’re most excited about. We love following local bands and tracking good tours that pass through Charlotte, so we’ll be keeping this list as up to date as possible. At the bottom of Shows, etc is a list of all of our favorite venues in town with live links to their calendars. We hope you’ll visit creampuffrecords.com first when you’re looking online for good live music in Charlotte.
On Repeat. We love records, plain and simple. And we want to share them with you. Below Shows, etc, you’ll see the On Repeat section. It will always have a handful of LPs that we’re digging at the moment. Sometimes we’ll feature records you can buy in our store but others will just be albums that we have in frequent rotation. Click each album to get more information about it.
Partners. Click on the Partners link to see a roll call of all the great folks that help make Cream Puff Records what it is. Each logo is a live link that will take you to that partner’s website or Facebook page.
Email Sign Up. Input your email address here and we’ll keep you up to date on Cream Puff stuff with our periodic email blasts.
Social Media. Yeah, we’re social. Check us out on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter using the live links on the bottom left.
TABOR….where would we be without them? Tabor is Charlotte’s premier men’s clothing store, with killer threads for serious dudes. Owners Laura and Perry Poole are great friends of ours, and Cream Puff Records would not exist without their support.
Most importantly, THANK YOU for your interest in Cream Puff Records. We hope you’ll add our website to your weekly reading list, and we hope to see you at the store soon.
